Just a couple of days ago, it was looking very likely that the Crown Jewel would take place in Saudi Arabia as scheduled. Things are changing behind the scenes.
As reported on Wrestling Observer Radio, ticket prices are listed online by the Saudi government but they have yet to be put on sale. They were supposed to go on sale this past Friday but WWE has yet to let them know if they plan to move forward with the show and that is why fans are not allowed to buy tickets yet.
Dave Meltzer noted that Vince McMahon was adamant about doing the show and that outside pressure (U.S. government, for example) is the only thing that would make him change his mind.
Well, there are outside forces in play here and now the word going around in WWE is that the show is very much in jeopardy. As expected, there were no mentions of Saudi Arabia last night on Raw.
It is worth noting that the quarterly results conference is set for Thursday and there?s a good chance that an investor will ask about the status of the show in Saudi Arabia.
