WWE Evolution has come and gone and it will go down as one of the best WWE shows of the year. Fans raved about the in-ring action and the production standing out from traditional shows. If you are wondering why the production for the Evolution pay-per-view felt different than other shows, it?s because there was different crew running things.

PWInsider reports that the usual lighting, stages, rig, etc. had to be in North Carolina for Monday Night Raw so they used some of the house show set for Evolution. The reason for this is because Evolution was a late addition to the 2018 WWE pay-per-view calendar and it was logistically impossible to get the staging from New York to North Carolina. In addition, the dark lighting was done to give the show a different feel from the typical WWE pay-per-view events.

The darker lighting gave the show an NXT Takeover vibe. The other reason why the show felt different is that the NXT production crew was handling things and the regular production crew (including Kevin Dunn) were in North Carolina getting ready for Raw. The person who directed the Evolution show is the same person who directs the Takeover events.

Vince McMahon, however, was backstage and running the gorilla position with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

We?re told that the Evolution show will become an annual event.
