It was announced yesterday that SmackDown Live star Tye Dillinger was removed from his scheduled United States Title match against Shinsuke Nakamura after suffering a hand injury on Monday during a live event. To make matters worse, it looks like Dillinger will require surgery for the injury.
Recently, Dillinger took to Twitter to thank fans for their support, address speculation, and offer an update on his hand. He noted that he initially hoped the injury wasn?t serious, but unfortunately it?s looking like it might be worse than expected. As for when he?ll return, Dillinger couldn?t offer an exact timetable for his return, but thanked WWE?s medical staff for taking action quickly:
?Hey guys, I appreciate the kind words as well as the entertaining skeptics ? Accidents happen and I was hoping it wasn?t serious, but that was wishful thinking. I really wanted tonight?s opportunity for the #USTitle I require surgery and the timetable is currently unknown.
?Thank you to the WWE medical staff for taking quick action. Thank you for the support and I?ll be back soon. P.S. 1- Learning to be Right handed sucks. 2. You REALLY DO need your thumbs. And? 3. It took 7 mins to tweet these messages?
