Would you have the nerve to chase a thief who stole your wallet? Linette Kossow of Chicago did. Kossow, a Macy's executive on a business trip, had just boarded a bus in New York. As she looked through her purse for coupons, a man reached over her shoulder, grabbed her wallet, and then took off. He escaped through the back door of the bus. Kossow paused for a second and then left her bag and ran after the robber. The 50-year-old says she kept screaming for help and for someone to call 911. Kossow was soon joined by a security guard and a homeless man. When Kossow caught up to the thief, she grabbed him and said, "God wants you to give me my wallet." But the thief escaped her grip and slipped away again. Kossow and her crew eventually cornered him in an alley, and she got her wallet back. She then hugged the strangers who had helped her and gave them the cash in her wallet as well as a $500 check from her mother. So where did Kossow find the nerve to go up against an assailant? She had recently had her email hacked and her home burglarized and says she was "tired of being a victim." On Twitter, Kossow is being called a hero and "firecracker." Some people are even saying she's awesome and has "a lotta guts." As for the thief, he has been charged with felony theft and is in jail on $100,000 bond.
