Nicaraguan volcano spews ash 3 miles high
The San Cristobal volcano, Nicaragua's highest active peak, belched an ash plume about 3 miles into the atmosphere on Saturday, Sept. 8. About 3,000 people had to be evacuated, and the government said up to 20,000 may be affected.
