Kaipo Pomaikai of Kapolei, Hawaii was watching his grandson play indoor volleyball when an errant ball hit him in the head. While he was driving home later that day he started to lose vision in his left eye, so the 60-year-old took himself to the hospital where doctors performed a cat scan. The next day he diagnosed with an unruptured aneurysm on the right side of his brain the size of a nickel. It turned out Pomaikai had had the aneurysm for years and doctors believed he would have died within a few years if the medical condition was left untreated. Due to the fateful volleyball incident and successful surgery, the lucky grandfather has a second chance. Pomaikai is hoping he'll meet the volleyball player who wound up saving his life.
