For computer users – more so with Windows operating systems – system security is always a big concern among its users. So, below I compiled a list of free Anti-Virus software. With this being said, I am not promising that there isn't paid portions of these programs that offer a greater amount of security that could could potentially be interested in. However, the free software, along with other pieces of free software can do just as well.

I personally prefer Avast Free Antivirus. Ever since I had it, I've had very few if any problems with viruses and malware. Definitely a must have. :)

See, to me, as long as you keep your nose clean and use common sense you shouldn't have much problems with any of them. I've never really had any problems with viruses. I've used Norton, AVG, AVAST, BitDefender, and now Advanced System Care. Probably several in-between lol.

Norton gave me nothing but trouble, lol

Avast is currently the world's top antivirus software. It's pretty much the only antivirus I trust.

I never really liked Avast. No particular reason other than my ex's family used it lol. It felt like I was always having to clean something for them on their computers; then they switched to Apple computers so I went on strike from Avast for personal use lol. Nothing against them by any means though lol.

Avast pretty much shields my computer from viruses and malware 24/7. But if you're one of those people who constantly worry about viruses and malware, I recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware alongside Avast. Also a paid subscription to Malwarebytes is well worth what you pay for it. Give it a shot.

They aren't paying me to recommend them. But oh I wish they were. lol

Thanks for the good recommendations. I was previously using AVG but all of a sudden coz of an update it installed something in my network adapter probably a firewall which didnt let me connect to my router. Im gonna try Avast now after u guys promoted it heavily lol.

Good luck! I'm sure it will run well. Just keep up to date, and run frequent scans - once maybe twice a week.

Avast updates automatically and can be set to scan as frequently as desired. But it's best to perform a full scan once a week.
