A car thief met his match after the female homeowner activated the garage door trapping him inside while he was attempting to leave with her car.

Andre Bacon, 21, entered the home through the garage and demanded that the woman give him the car keys. The woman gave Bacon the keys and then ran from the garage, but upon exiting she made sure to close the garage door trapping the thief inside. The woman then called 911.

When the police arrived they found Bacon sitting in the driver seat, keys still in the ignition.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Bacon was taken into custody and charged with felony attempted vehicle hijacking and theft charges. He is being held on $75,000 bail.

Is this a case of dumb criminal or smart would-be victim? :toung:

smart would-ve victim for sure. In such cases people mostly get nervous and do as they are told by the criminals. Props to the lady for thinking on her feet and acting smartly.

Could be both if you think about it.

It's great it turned out this way, in either case :)
