The UFC has gained a huge star back into their line-up. Last year former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones found himself in a hot mess after failing his second United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) drug test. This came on the heels of Jones challenging Brock Lesnar to a heavyweight exhibition bout, which picked up a ton of steam. Unfortunately, Jones was stripped of his title and suspended indefinitely until USADA could sort the matter out.

In his absence, Daniel Cormier has regained the 205-pound crown and essentially solidified a heavyweight match-up of his own against Lesnar. With that being said, it looks like Jones could be back inside the Octagon a lot sooner than anybody thought. As a second-time offender, Jones was looking at a possible four-year ban by USADA. Instead, last night it was announced Jones? suspension was only 15 months long. Also, it was retroactive to when the failed test sample was obtained, which was July 28, 2017.

Now, Jones will be eligible to return to fight again next month on October 28th. That?s just in time to headline the Madison Square Garden pay-per-view card on November 3rd. This would be a huge opportunity for Jones, who is a New York native. There?s no doubt the card will be stacked, as fellow UFC mega-star Nate Diaz is already slated in the co-main event. Perhaps Jones can build himself back up into a possible superfight against Lesnar, which professional wrestling and MMA fans have been dying to see.
