As we reported yesterday, Hulk Hogan will be the host of WWE Crown Jewel.

The news came via a statement sent to several media outlets and there was no mention of Hogan on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live. Apparently, WWE wanted this to be a low-key thing without much fanfare and that is why he was quietly added to the Crown Jewel page in the events section of WWE.com

Dave Meltzer reports that a commercial was put together before Raw for Crown Jewel and it featured Hogan. There were people in production that were expecting the commercial to air on Raw but plans changed and it was never shown.

It was later decided that they should just quietly add Hogan on the website without a story. Once word got out, Hogan?s name disappeared. WWE says that his removal was just an error and they confirmed that he would be hosting the show.

Hogan was reinstated into the WWE Hall Of Fame in July and spoke to the locker room before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Some wrestlers were forgiving and felt he said the right things while others were critical and pointed out that Hogan came across as someone who was sorry for being caught rather than being sorry about his racist remarks that leaked in 2015.

It will be interesting if there is any interaction between Hogan and The New Day backstage at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
